Who we are

Ready for the SCA is a web-based platform used by GP training programmes to run mock Simulated Clinical Assessment (SCA) sessions.

What data we collect

We process account and training data needed to operate the platform. This includes name, email address, organisation, role (examiner, trainee, actor, admin), assessment data (feedback, scores, notes), session participation data and video recordings of consultations where recording is enabled by the organisation.

How we use this data

We use data to run mock SCA sessions, manage users and role-based access, store assessment feedback, support video consultations through LiveKit, produce reports for training teams and support post-session review and debrief activity.

Legal basis under UK GDPR

Depending on context, processing relies on legitimate interests, contractual necessity and consent where applicable. For recordings, organisations are responsible for choosing an appropriate legal basis and obtaining consent where required by their policies.

Data sharing

We use Firebase Authentication and Firestore, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure, to provide login and application data storage. We use LiveKit for video consultation infrastructure and optional recordings. We do not sell personal data.

Data retention

GP training programmes act as Data Controllers and set retention periods for their own data. Ready for the SCA acts as a Data Processor and follows controller instructions. Data deletion can be actioned on request through the organisation.

Your rights

You can request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion where appropriate. In most cases, requests should be made first through your GP training programme admin team, who is the Data Controller.

Data roles and platform scope

GP training programmes are Data Controllers. Ready for the SCA is a Data Processor. The platform is a training and assessment tool and is not intended for real patient care or clinical decision-making.

Data location

Data is stored using Google Cloud infrastructure in appropriate UK or EU regional data centres, according to service configuration and controller requirements.
